Helping Handfelt Craft is a women-led social enterprise specializing in high-quality felt products, including shoes, slippers, accessories, and gift items. Established as an economic development initiative by five local women, the company aims to empower underprivileged urban and rural women by providing sustainable employment opportunities.“Helping Handfelt” was established in 2011 as an economic development project by five local women in Changunarayan (a village 22 km way from Kathmandu). The main objective was to provide job opportunities to the urban and rural women who were living in poverty within the walls of their home, isolated from economic activities. Nowadays there are more than 150 local women employed and managing together “Helping Handfelt”.
From the time of its foundation, the company is utilizing the natural wool, fibers at the optimum level in making different kinds of handicraft products such as caps, bags, scarf, shoes and Christmas products etc. The company is affiliated with the Federation of Handicrafts Association of Nepal (FHAN) the national level federation of handicraft producers, Felt Association of Nepal and Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce.
With a commitment to ethical production and sustainability, the company maximizes the use of natural wool and fibers to create a diverse range of handcrafted products. It is affiliated with the Federation of Handicrafts Association of Nepal (FHAN), the Felt Association of Nepal, and the Bhaktapur Chamber of Commerce.
